Our Ski Resort locations have two distinct positions. On a daily basis staff may work both positions or they may just work one of them. The two positions are the Shooting position and the Selling position.
The staff person performing the Shooting postion is located at the top of one of the main lifts. On days where weather does not permit our staff to shoot on the top of the mountain, our shooters roam the base area, or shoot at our Photography Hut located in the base area. This position is obviously performed outside, and is performed in varying CANADAIN WINTER weather conditions!
The Shooter’s responsibility is to engage potential customers as they exit the chair lift departure area. Our staff do not simply ask guests if they would like a picture taken, rather they ask guests if they (our staff) can explain our mountain portrait photography service. Should the guest be interested in the service, our staff then perform a mini portrait sitting with the guest.
The Shooting staff person during the sitting focuses on three key functions:
- Creating a Technically superior portrait,
- Organizing the group in unique portrait poses,
- Capturing exceptional expressions.
After the portrait sitting, our staff inform the customer how they can preview the images later in the day at our Portrait Presentation Center located in the main day lodge.
The shooting shift may last anywhere from two to six hours, and is performed alone.
The second position is the Selling Position. Staff performing the selling position work at our Portrait Presentation Center located in the main day lodge. Here staff are responsible for presenting the images taken of the guest. Staff display the images captured on computer monitors and assist the guest in building a package of portrait prints. Once the package of prints has been selected, the prints are fulfilled on site.
The Selling shift lasts anywhere from 4 to 7 hours, and may at times are performed with another co-worker.
